Perpetual is proud to receive the coveted Best Market Neutral Fund award for the Pure Equity Alpha Fund at the Australian Alternative Investment Awards held in Sydney on September 25, 2024.
The annual awards, held in conjunction with the Hedge Funds Rock charity night at the Sydney Hilton, presents an opportunity for alternative managers to celebrate their wins and give back to the community through the Alternative Future Foundation’s (AFF) charity partners. Finalists and winners are decided based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative factors agreed by a panel of judges.
The Perpetual Pure Equity Alpha Fund is a concentrated, absolute return portfolio, combining both long and short positions to take advantage of rising and falling markets. The fund is managed by Perpetual’s deputy head of equities Anthony Aboud and Portfolio Manager Sean Roger, supported by one of the largest and most experienced Australian Equities teams in the market. Perpetual’s Pure Credit Alpha Fund was also nominated in the Best Alternative Fixed Income & Credit Fund category. Managed by industry veteran Michael Korber, the fund is constructed on a ‘core-plus’ basis – focusing on both a ‘core’ component of investment grade securities, as well as a ‘plus’ component, investing in high yield securities to provide a stable source of running yield.
